Making A Body Without Organs (Steam Demo!)

No Organs Here

Have you ever dreamed about making a Body without organs?

Buff form (bullet glitch not included)

While trying to understand this philosophical concept the other day, I realized that maybe this is what my games, and especially Mask Up, are about: enabling the embodiment of something that goes beyond what our simple physical bodies are, or even what they could be. Becoming fluid. In Mask Up, you were directly the juice, while in Mask Around, you begin as a human but slowly become one with the juice, until you reach your final weirdly buffed form, the latest addition to the game.

Try It Now!

I just slapped a big "DEMO" on top of the base art for the Steam promo art.

As you can see, development have been going smoothly, and I now consider myself nearly done content-wise for release. I can't wait for you to get your hands on the final game... In the meantime, you can try the brand new Steam Demo! It is rather limited in content, as only the first zone is accessible, but it features the new buff form! I let my friend PeKaNo loose on the music, and they did some heavy breakcore remix of the base music... I might have to tune it down a little, but let me know your thoughts!

On Versions And Pricing

The premium mask gives you an interesting health trade-off.

I can also now talk briefly about the pricing and different version of the game. The PC version of Mask Around will be paid (~5$), while a free version will be available on mobile. This free mobile version will have a watermark and some intermittent begging from me to purchase the game (which you can do with an in-app purchase on the Playstore or by buying the premium .apk on itch). All paid versions, mobile or PC, will feature an exclusive mask, which you can see above. I hope this is not too confusing, and I've prepared this table summary of all existing versions.

Near The End

This is where the main character keeps his underwear #lore

This may be my final devlog before the release of Mask Around... I started this project just over one year ago, and it's finally coming to an end (?). I'm feeling a mix of excitement and fear. I reasonably hope that it will a least make a few people happy. I'm still working on the final boss and on end-game content; these moments feel important in my gamedev life, I'll try to enjoy them. See you very soon!

Like usual, you can join the discord server, subscribe to my mailing list and wishlist the game on Steam.
